Inpokémon GO is just a great discussion about changing bonuses. Now players, Youtuber and other content creators in the network share an open letter to the developers.
What's going on? When the Corona pandemic began, developer Niantic had introduced some bonuses that should facilitate playing at a distance. These include, for example, enlarged interaction radii for pokéstops or arenas.
But while the bonuses are still active in German-speaking countries, they were changed a bit far in the parts of the world. In the US and New Zealand, for example, you have to get closer to Pokéstops again to activate them. An exact list of all changes can be found here.
For days, this step is discussed controversial in the community. Now another step came to this: In the social media, an open letter to Niantic is shared by a wide variety of players or content-creatorn, in which the disappointment of many players is expressed.
Open letter calls on: "Listen to us, Niantic"
What is that for a letter? The open letter signed by "The Pokémon Community", you can find on platforms like Reddit or Twitter. There it is shared under the hashtag "#hearusniantic" ("listen to us, niantic").
In addition to a lot of players, international Youtuber, Content Creator or other platforms are also involved in the action.
- The for many "best players in the world" in Pokémon Go, Brandon Tan is there
- The pokeminers who are often looking for Leaks in the code
- Great Youtuber like "Trainer Tips" (977,000 subscriptions) and the Youtuberin "Zoëtwodots" (213,000 subscriptions) shared the letter
- PokeBattler, Leekduck, Pvpoke and many more participate
- Also in the Pokémon-Go subbreddit "Thesilphroad" the letter was shared and collects a lot of awards (via reddit).
What is in the letter? The letter turns primarily to the reduced interaction radius. This had been introduced in the course of the pandemic, but had a positive effect on the community.
This effect records the authors of the letter in three points.
- Safety: Thanks to the increased radius you have to cross no dangerous roads to interact with stops. The entering of private principles is less a topic thereby. In addition, in bad weather, one could be better in secure places and generally avoid security risks if you do not have to go into insecure areas for stops. In addition, the distancing comes with regard to the pandemic.
- Accessibility: Here it is pointed out that Stops became a little reachable, and you could avoid stairs or other barriers. Even coaches who want to avoid crowds, could play a pleasant distance. In addition, you can supervise young children better while playing.
- Consideration: Non-players would respected by the bonuses, as coaches are not so for example, for example, shops, private property, playgrounds or similar overfilling or blocking.
From the point of view of the letter authors, the abolition of the enlarged radius has a negative effect on the community: "The exploration and desire for exploration were never negatively influenced by the advanced interaction radius of the Pokéstops. What a negative impact on exploration is the global pandemic, "says the statement.
