What makes a game scary? Good graphics? Properly placed Jumpscares? Or is the whole thing dependent on your own taste? I could discuss this topic for hours, but I could also show you Lost in vivo: a game that maybe it maybe to e-circle - but to be seriously grayish.
It's a quiet evening, the sun is red-orange on the horizon and slowly bleed over the world, while you go with your dog Gassi: the best friend of man on the leash and the eternal way in front of you almost seems to be as if nothing to taste. Then - and of course it has to give it a Dann - smells your dog something interesting and storms about access to the road in the sewer: away is he. Everything calls nothing, so you have to jump over your shadow and declare him. down, down, into the darkness.
The premise in Lost in Vivo is to find your dog. What makes a knowing grinning when you know the game - such a simple, banal reason will lead you straight into hell . Lost in Vivo is a four-hour horror game, developed by a person, Kira, and based on movies like Jacob's ladder and games like Silent Hill 2.
If you ask the comments on Steam, then Lost in Vivo is a game that is most likely reminiscent of Silent Hill 2: a Klaustrophobische masterpiece with PS2 graphics, but in first-person perspective and equipped with psychological tricks who will bring you to your borders: there are tight, surreal-looking pipes through which you crawls while the music roares ungraciously. There are disgusting monsters that you have to shoot, eternal dark corridors and a dog barking in the distance. But is that really your dog? Or something else?
Get _lust? Here is the trailer to Lost in Vivo: _
Lost in Vivo is the best horror game to Silent Hill 2, if you ask me
... and almost nobody knows it. Why to Silent Hill 2? Because it is obviously a love letter to games of this time, on games connecting psychological horror with pixel splatters, games that exploit their own graphics to be even more scared. Lost in Vivo has no hyperrealistic graphics, so be prepared: It does not look like P.T. Or Resident Evil 8, but that does not want it either. I believe that there is the world and surroundings in the game with this graphics even strange, even inhumane - but see yourself.
If you are interested in horror games, I recommend you to take a look at the indie sector again and again: Lost in Vivo is a pearl who has a pearl out without question, but there is good horror games of indie developers for every taste, If you know where to look for. (Psst: itch.io.)
And the good thing: most of the most cost either nothing or under twenty euros. Lost in Vivo you can buy on Steam or Itch.I29.99 Euro. Not really a lot of money for this horror experience.
